Participants must arrange and pay for their own return international flights, and make their own way to the hotel and be ready to commence the mission. For those attending the optional Berlin leg, you must make your own way to Berlin to arrive on the afternoon of 7 June 2017 (we will then transfer you to London on 10 June to join the main mission).
For those only attending the London mission, you must make your own to way to arrive in the hotel in London by the afternoon of 11 June 2017. The mission finishes in London on morning of Saturday 17 June, and participants are to arrange their own return flights or onward travel.
Participants must also cover any other personal costs or out-of-pocket expenses including all other meals, incidentals, visas, passports, travel insurance, equipment, and all other personal expenditure.
The mission is a combination of official events and meetings organised by Startup Catalyst, plus an array of over 300 events on in London for London Tech Week. Participants on the mission can choose their own schedule of events from these activities, and all participants also receive support from our UK partners to curate specific meetings to suit their individual needs.
The schedule of official mission events is built around the participants on the mission, and currently includes a group dinner with guests, a large Tech Australia reception event at Australia House, private meetings and tours with accelerators such as TechStars Barclays, and with corporate innovation hubs such as the Commonwealth Bank Innovation Lab, and many more.
All profits from the mission contribute to funding our annual Youth Mission, where we take 20 high-achieving, technically savvy youths (18-29) on a sponsored two-week mission to Silicon Valley to expose, infect, and inspire them to be Australia’s next generation of future globally successful tech entrepreneurs. Included in the ticket price for the mission is an element of sponsorship to contribute to the cost of sending one participant on this important annual Youth Mission.
